Why Not's Amazing Race
Sep. 25, 2026 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

UPDATE:

DATE HAS CHANGED DUE TO LOW REGISTRATION

NEW DATE: FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 25

Fellow Rotarians,

One of the things I love most about Rotary is that when our community needs us, we show up. This is another opportunity for us to do just that—while having some fun along the way!

Our valued community partner, Why Not City Missions, is launching a brand-new fundraiser this year—Why Not's Amazing Race—and they have invited community organizations to host obstacles and challenges for participating teams. The event will take place at Mohawk Park on Friday, August 14, from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Our Rotary Club will be hosting a water race obstacle, and we need your help to make it a success!

We are looking for volunteers to fill a minimum of two shifts of three people each (more volunteers are always welcome!). Your role will be to cheer participants on, help run the challenge, and represent Rotary in our community. No special skills are required—just your enthusiasm and willingness to lend a hand.

Why volunteer?

  • Support an incredible community partner making a difference in the lives of youth and families.
  • Demonstrate Rotary's commitment to service and community engagement.
  • Showcase our Club and the impact we make when we come together.
  • Spend a few hours having fun with fellow Rotarians and community members.

This event is expected to welcome 100–150 participants, in addition to volunteers and organizers, giving us a wonderful opportunity to share who we are and what Rotary is all about.

If you've ever wondered how small acts of service can make a big impact, this is it. Sometimes it's not about building something monumental—it's about showing up, encouraging others, and being part of something bigger than ourselves.

Service Above Self isn't just our motto—it's what we do.

If you're able to volunteer, please reply to this email and let me know if you're available for the morning or afternoon shift (or both!). We'll share the final schedule and additional details closer to the event.

Let's make a splash for a great cause and show our community what Rotary is all about!

A sign up email will follow.

In Rotary,

Laurie Macintyre
