Our club had the honour of having Elaine Hernandez, Immediate Past President of the Rotary Club of Mission, Texas along with other Rotarians from the RC of Mission Texas and Rotary District 5930 (Southern Texas) speak to our club, on January 19, 2022; Elaine and her fellow Texas Rotarians joined us to give us an update on the Global Grant “Growing Next Generation Farmers”.
Our club, together with the Rotary Club of Brantford are the International partner clubs for this Global Grant. This is an awesome GG Project teaching young teenagers from the Mission Texas area that their is a future in Agriculture other than as labourers picking crops.
Elaine was with us for the whole meeting including our “social time” and learned about the many great things our club is doing, including our many fundraisers. After hearing about what our club is doing Elaine decided to assist us with our fundraisers and has made a substantial personal donation to our club fund-raising account. Kudos and thank you to Elaine for her generosity.
Elaine will be joining us again once the Growing Next Generation Farmers project is fully operational.
