We had a great meeting yesterday! It's always fun to get presentations from the exchange students. It sounds like Alina (from Finland) and Joanne (from Taiwan) had a great year in spite of the pandemic interruption. Thank you, ladies, for your presentation and for choosing to spend your year in Canada!

"Organized Kaos exists to apprentice young people in life and trade inspiring hope and purpose. We offer a safe environment in which young people work and learn alongside skilled trades persons from local churches. Organized Kaos is not an “up-front” teaching, but a “side-to-side” mentorship, in which trades people teach youth, ages 13-17, in a hands on approach. OK maintains low ratios of 1 Skilled Trades Mentor to 2 Students. Projects create a common ground and break down barriers in a casual setting, leaving space to teach life skills, employability skills, faith, and the trades."

On Monday, December 14th 2015, the Adult Recreation Therapy Centre (ARTC) hosted the grand opening of their new building. ARTC provides physical and recreational therapy for disabled adults (e.g. stroke and accident victims). This new location allows them to better serve our community. The move was made possible in part by a $250,000 donation by the Rotary Club of Brantford Sunrise, which is the realization of a long-term fundraising goal of the club. This project was started by Rick Bullas and was completed in his memory. Rick Bullas was a found member of Sunrise Rotary and had a vision of the club creating a recreational centre that would serve seniors. The Club is proud that we were able to fulfill his vision and make a substantial difference in our community. Click on 'read more' for the original story and more pictures ...
